What is Upper Cervical Care? What is a Subluxation?
The neck is a complex and vital region of your body. For your health to be optimized, the brain needs to effectively communicate with your entire body. Injury to the upper neck can result in paralysis or death, but less severe injuries can result in negative long-term effects that are serious as well. Like a rock in your shoe, the longer it is present, the more irritation it can create. Similarly, misalignments in the neck irritate your blood vessels and nerves over time and can create problems, significantly affecting your body’s ability to self-heal.
A nerve irritation combined with a misalignment is referred to as an upper cervical subluxation. Upper cervical chiropractors reduce the irritation in the brain stem and improve body to brain communication by reestablishing proper balance and structure to the upper neck. Basically, we get your head on straight!
How Do We Do That?
To correct the misalignment, we perform a specific adjustment to the upper neck. Afterwards, you will rest in our resting room to allow the muscles, nerves, and ligaments to adapt to the correction.
What Should you Expect on your First Visit?
Congratulations on taking this huge step to better your health! When you arrive at the office, the staff at the front desk will be expecting you. You will then get to meet the doctor who will get a brief history of your specific case to get a better understanding of what you're experiencing. The doctor will then perform an exam specific to you to find out if we can help you. Your next visit will consist of us showing you what we have found and perform the first upper cervical correction and chiropractic care if needed.
